Revealed during the middle Makkan period, Surah Fatir (The Originator) focuses on the absolute power and self-sufficiency of God, who created the heavens and the earth and appointed angels as messengers. It addresses a proud and defiant Quraysh by reminding humanity that they are entirely dependent on their Creator, whereas God is free of all needs. The chapter utilizes powerful natural imagery—the different colors of fruits, mountains, and humans, and the separation of fresh and salty waters—as signs of an intelligent Designer. It warns humanity against the deceptive allure of worldly life and the whispers of Satan, emphasizing that every individual will carry their own spiritual burden on the Day of Judgment.

God is He who sends the winds, which agitate clouds, which We drive to a dead land, and thereby revive the ground after it had died. Likewise is the Resurrection

He merges the night into the day, and He merges the day into the night; and He regulates the sun and the moon, each running for a stated term. Such is God, your Lord; His is the sovereignty. As for those you call upon besides Him, they do not possess a speck
Uses the metaphor of the 'Qitmir'—the gossamer-thin, translucent skin wrapping a date stone—to illustrate that false deities do not possess even the weight or authority of that microscopic membrane in the universe.

Rebuts the practice of praying to inanimate statues or deceased beings: they can never hear invocations, could never grant requests even if they heard, and on the Day of Judgment will explicitly disown all those who worshiped them.

Translation
No burdened soul can carry the burden of another. Even if one weighted down calls for help with its burden, nothing can be lifted from it, even if they were related. You are to warn those who fear their Lord inwardly, and perform the prayer. He who purifies himself purifies himself for his own good. To God is the ultimate return
